Fil Rouge is making half the T-shirts for the Olympic Games volunteers

29 April 2024

Fil Rouge, a Marseille-based company committed to the social and solidarity economy, has been selected by Decathlon, the official supplier to the Olympic Committee, to manufacture half of the T-shirts for the 45 000 volunteers at the Olympic Games.

Produced in its workshops in the La Capelette neighbourhood of Marseille by people who are being reintegrated into the workforce, this order created around 40 jobs and also demonstrated that it is possible to bring back textile production to France and Marseille.

New projects with Decathlon are expected to be finalised in the near future, and opportunities with other retailers are also being explored.

In the meantime, each volunteer will receive four "Made in Marseille" T-shirts as part of their kit for the Olympics. Distribution will begin at the end of May.
