15 November 2023

This year, Düsseldorf transformed itself into the world capital of medicine as it hosted the MEDICA 2023 trade fair from November 13 to 16. A delegation of healthcare experts from the South of France ensured the regional health innovation ecosystem remains in the global spotlight.

A key event in the healthcare sector for more than 50 years, this annual global forum on medicine brings together top decision-makers and professionals from the industry and all major stakeholders in the healthcare economy.

With more than 5300 exhibiting companies from 70 countries, MEDICA showcases the innovative potential of the medical technology industry.

A great opportunity to meet companies specializing in diagnostics, MedTech, e-health, physiotherapy tech (including e-sport in preparation for the hosting of events for the 2024 Olympic Games in the South of France), delegations from risingSUD, the Sophia Antipolis Foundation,  and Team Nice Côte d'Azur were present at the trade fair to promote the regional healthcare ecosystem.

The delegation from the South of France held around twenty highly productive meetings to develop future research partnerships and business investment or location projects, as well as to help regional companies such as RespInnovation, based at the Sophia Antipolis technology park, to expand internationally.

The delegation was also able to meet South Korean and Japanese companies from the innovative healthcare and Silver Economy sectors, with potential projects for setting up in the South of France.

With its excellent global reputation, the MEDICA trade fair is a valuable opportunity for regional companies looking to expand internationally.
