06 December 2023

The 2023 edition of the World Nuclear Exhibition was held from November 28 to 30 at Paris - Nord Villepinte, and welcomed more than 23 600 visitors and nearly 780 exhibitors from 88 countries.

Chaired by Sylvie BERMANN, who served as one of France’s leading ambassadors, the World Nuclear Exhibition is the world's leading trade fair for the civil nuclear industry and it brings together the sector's key stakeholders and leading companies every two years.

The South of France is a leading territory for nuclear innovation as it features two world-class nuclear facilities, Tricastin site and the Cadarache research and development center. Overall, the nuclear sector generates 18 500 direct and indirect jobs in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. It is also offers a sustainable solution for decarbonizing regional industry and advancing the region's transition from fossil fuels.

The risingSUD team participated in all three days of the trade fair and was able to meet with numerous leading international companies who could be interested in setting up in the South of France. The event also provided an opportunity to meet and discuss with regional companies exhibiting at the show, including AMC ETEC, CSTI, ID2, CNIM, SECTOR, SiCA Nucléaire, and HEXANA, which recently was included in the France 2030 program.

One especially notable business meeting was organized with the Groupement des Industriels Français de l'Energie Nucléaire (GIFEN) and the Capenergies energy cluster to identify the future development opportunities for the nuclear industry in the South of France.

Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, which has been a historic hub for the nuclear sector, is now a region focused on the nuclear future!
