The Southern region holds strong with 125 foreign projects secured in 2024 while French attractiveness slows down.

On the occasion of the 1st Summit for Action on Artificial Intelligence held in Paris on February 10 and 11, 2025, President Emmanuel Macron announced €109 billion in private investments in AI projects in France. Several of these projects have been confirmed in the Southern Region, which is establishing itself as a key player in AI in France, Europe, and the world.

Germany, France's leading trade partner, is also the second largest investor in the Southern region in 2024. To strengthen this dynamic, risingSUD is signing a partnership agreement today with the Franco-German Business Club of Provence.

The Southern Region and risingSUD, in partnership with Bpifrance, presented today the 19 companies that make up the 7th cohort of SUD Accelerator. Coming from various sectors and territories, they will benefit from personalized support for 24 months to lay the foundations for sustainable performance and guide them towards scaling up from SMEs to mid-sized companies, with a focus on themes such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and transitions (ecological, energy, digital).

After a successful experiment during the first phase of the Territoires d’Industrie program (2018-2022), the State, the Southern Region, the ANCT, and the Banque des Territoires are implementing a new unique partnership arrangement in France, with the operational support of risingSUD.

At the initiative of the Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, the OIR program was set up in 2016 to support eight key strategic sectors for the region. When announced, the program announced it aimed to meet several goals by 2028: - Mobilize €2 billion of public-private investment, - Attract 500 international investment projects - Create or maintain 80 000 jobs throughout the region Promising initial results.

On July 6th, during the Rencontres Economiques d’Aix-en-Provence and in the presence of Renaud MUSELIER, Audrey BRUN RABUEL (CEO of risingSUD), and Laurent SAINT-MARTIN (CEO of Business France), a public-public cooperation agreement was signed for 2024-2025. The agreement aims to better support regional companies in their international development.

The success of the 14th edition of the Financial Engineering Committee for Regional Interest Operations, organized today by the Sud Region with the support of risingSUD, has been confirmed. Over 350 participants, including 250 public and private financiers, rallied around 5 companies seeking funding and 9 high-value-added projects for the regional territory in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Agroecology, and Reindustrialization, aiming to activate nearly 125 million euros in financing.

The economic development and attractiveness agency of the South region was a partner in Vision Glofe 2024, which took place on June 4th and 5th in Paris, at the Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty. This unique event in France allowed risingSUD to strengthen its ties and create new business opportunities with economic actors from Gulf countries.
